The green-throated carib is the largest species of hummingbird, measuring 10.5 to 12 cm (4.1 to 4.7 in) in length. The female's back is less vibrant green, although both sexes have a similarly coloured gorget. The long, tennis racket-shaped tail of this bird, which it can swing back and forth like a clock swing, may be the one that catches your eye the most. |
