Munia, any of several small Asian finchlike birds belonging to the mannikin and waxbill families. The munia is roughly 11 to 12 cm long and weighs 12 to 16 g. The adult has a short black beak, brown upperparts, and a dark brown head, as is typical of grain-eating birds. |
