Name : Badami Cave Temples, Karnataka
Information :

King Kirthivarman (567- 598 AD) and his brother Mangalesha I (610- 615 AD) constructed the four cave temples of Badami, the son of King Pulakesi I. Some of the most beautiful Indian rock-cut temples were created by the Badami Chalukyas. An old manmade lake, the Agastya tirtha reservoir, collects the water pouring from the Badami ravine. There are sandstone cliffs that rise high over the water. These cliffs were used to build royal shrines with a spectacular view of the old capital city.
