Located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, Brihadeeshwara Temple (Peruvudaiyar Kovil) is a Shiva temple. Periya Kovil, RajaRajeswara Temple, and Rajarajesvaram are other names for the temple. A Chola-period Dravidian temple that is one of the biggest in India. Since its completion in 1010, the temple has celebrated its 1000th anniversary. There are UNESCO World Heritage Sites designated as the "Great Living Chola Temples" that include this temple. |
