Information : The Virupaksha Temple is located in Hampi, Karnataka, in the Ballari district. Temple is renowned for its architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of that. Ancient Hindu deities and symbols adorn the beautifully hand-carved friezes of the tower, which dates back more than 1,300 years. Also known as Pampapati Temple, it was built in the Dravidian style. It is situated on the south bank of the river Tungabadra, among the ruins of Vijayanagar, the Vijayanagara empire's capital.
