Information : These teeth are meant to smash food and are placed behind and next to the canines. In the mouth cavity, there are eight premolars. In each quadrant of the mouth, there are two. The first premolar is closest to the midline, while the second premolar is furthest from the midline. These teeth may have three to four cusps. The maxillary first premolar has two roots, while the other premolars only have one. In the primary dentition, there are no premolars.
