The Golden Temple is located in Amritsar, the Sikhs' holiest city. The Golden Temple, with its entire golden roof, is one of the most significant pilgrimage sites for Sikhs. The temple is a two-story building with over 400 kilogrammes of pure gold leaf covering the upper half. The rest of the temple complex is made of white marble that has been inlaid with precious and semi-precious coloured stones.
