Sri Lanka's most important Buddhist relic. As well as a museum, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a destination of pilgrimage for the Sri Lankans. During puja, worshippers and visitors can enter the tightly guarded chamber that houses the tooth. However, you cannot see the tooth. It is stored in a gold dagoba-shaped casket, which includes a succession of six dagoba caskets of decreasing size.
