This Rock Garden, Ryoanji Temple is located in Kyoto Northwest and is part of the Rinzai Rinzai Zen Buddhist Myoshin-ji school. One of the most remarkable examples of the Kare-sansui or the dry landscape, a kind of Japanese zen garden design, is the Ryoanji Temple, which translates as "the Temple of a Dragon in peace."
