In Nara (Japan), the Yakushiji Temple, is the seat of the Buddhist Hosso sect and one of the country's main temples. The famed three-story East Pagoda was first set up in 680 CE in Fujiwara-kyo and moved to Nara in 718 CE. Yakushiji is a World Heritage Site recognised by UNESCO. |
