Wat Arun is a prominent temple on the west side of the river (Thonburi), called Wat Chaeng. It is locally called Wat Chaeng. It's certainly one of Bangkok's most magnificent temples, not just because it is situated on the banks of the river, but also because the design differs greatly from other temples in the Thai city. Wat Arun is mainly composed of colourfully adorned spires (nicknamed the 'Temple of Dawn'). |
