With an estimated 5,700 metres in height, Pico Cristobal Colon is Colombia's tallest mountain (18,700 ft). It is also the world's fifth-largest. On this mountain and on the neighbouring mountains is a perpetual snowcap. Together with Pico Simon Bolivar, it is part of the series Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. The summit was named after Columbus Christopher. |
