At 9966 metres Mauna Kea, the highest peak on Earth is one of the six volcanoes that made up the Island of Hawaii (32,696 feet, 6.2 miles). The atmosphere where commercial aircraft travel is 1,116 metres (3,662 feet, 0.8 km) high, almost the same altitude as Mount Everest. |
