The highest point in volcanoes Virunga Mountain in East and Central Africa is Mount Karisimbi (14,787 feet [4,507 m]). It is also noted for its unique flora and has four vegetation zones, ranging from the lush forest at its base to a stony volcanic nucleus. Karisimbi is the habitat of gourillas. |
