Name : Abu Simbel
Information : Abu Simbel is an ancient temple complex in South Egypt which was originally cleared up onto a solid cliff, near the Nile River's second cataract. Obviously the temples cannot, like at their original site, be framed in natural stone. This function has to be developed artificially. The 20 metre statues of Ramses, located on either side of the main temple, are placed against the recessed edge of the cliff.
