The Ramesseum is Pharaoh Ramesses II's memorial temple (or mortuary temple). It is situated in Upper Egypt in the Theban Necropolis. The entry goes via the entrance to the second court, where one should turn left towards the first pylon, at the northeast corner of the enclosed wall. For example the bulk of the hypostyle hall columns in the inner sanctuary, and a number of osirid sculptures at the entry, albeit mainly without heads, are still standing at the entrance. |
