Situated at the foot of the steep cliffs of the desert hills, The temple of Deir el-Bahri stands out against the bright yellow and light brown rocks in the pale, almost white sandstone of the temple. The Temples complex is located in the north and south half on three terraces that rise up from the plain, linked by ramps. There is a raised colonnade on the west side of each terrace. Part of the temple was cut out of the rock itself. The complex has sculptures, reliefs and inscriptions lavishly enhanced within. |
