Sponges are like other animals since they are mixotrophic, multi-cellular, heterotropic, and generate sperm cells. They lack real tissues and organs, unlike other creatures. Some of them are very symmetric, but most of them are asymmetrical. Deep-water sponges can live to be over 200 years old.
