In Kshetra, near Veraval, in Saurastra, you will find the historical temple of the Somnath. It is one of the twelve temples of Jyotirlinga devoted to Lord Siva and has a renowned status among the Hindus. The temple was a witness to serious historical event, and foreign invaders damaged the temple for its rare gem and jewel collection. The temple is designed in the Chalukya architectural style and is situated on the beach of the sea. An arrow pillar, known as Baan stambh, is the eye grabbing portion of the temple. |
