Taraknath Temple in Tarakeshwar village, Hooghly District, is the main attraction. Raja Bharamalla built the Taraknath Temple in 1729, which is dedicated to Lord Taraknath. Taraknath Temple is one of India's Jyotirlinga temples, which are the 12 abodes of Lord Shiva. Minor shrines devoted to Goddess Kali and Lord Lakshmi-Narayan may also be found in this temple. Sravan month, Maha Shivratri, Chaitra Sankranti, and other auspicious festivals are observed at this temple. |
